Federico Caleno graduated in Telecommunication Engineering, is currently head of End Customer Application and New Technologies unit in Global Infrastructure and Network business line in Enel Spa.
He joined Enel in 2001 to develop Value Added Services leveraging on the Enel Smart Metering infrastructure, than from 2003 and 2008 he was involved in the promotion of the Enel Smart Metering solution towards the Italian and International DSOs and he led the development of Enel Smart Info product to allow the final customer an easy access to the metering data. In 2008 he led the development of the Enel EV recharging infrastructure that is currently adopted in all the countries where Enel Group is present as grid operator.
The current responsibilities are:
- To define technical and functional specifications, architecture, equipments, settings and performance requirements of end-customer applications (e.g. smart info, electrical mobility infrastructure and management system) and public lighting systems (e.g. remote control, value added services);
- To select the most promising technology and to provide technology readiness by managing testing phases, both at laboratory and field level;
- To manage the development, the homologation and certification processes for relevant equipments; to support Global Procurement during suppliers qualification and tendering processes;
- To manage the relationship with international technical bodies/associations for the relevant matters.
Before joining Enel, from 1996 to 1999 he was a Marketing Project Manager in Telecom Italia and from 1999 to 2001 Marketing Manager of the Narrow and Broad Band Internet Access in Telecom Italia Net.
